Become a New Bern Police Department Volunteer!
|
The New Bern Police Department benefits greatly from volunteers who support the daily functions, special projects and goals of the department.
The corps of volunteers reformatted in the summer of 2008, receiving status as a charitable organization in order to better maximize the group's capabilities and officially became known as the New Bern Police Department Cititzens' Volunteers. The NBPDCV, Inc., is a North Carolina non-profit that assists the police department by providing funding for the summer "Cops and Kids Camp" and other educational programs offered by the NBPD.
There are currently more than 70 people serving as volunteers, who perform a number of different tasks within the department. With the support of these individuals, officers and administrative staff in every facet of the department are able to provide higher quality services and programs to the citizens of New Bern.
