Color Splash Summer Camp
Color Splash summer camp is a unique, total-art immersion, summer program for kids in the 6th-8th grades who LOVE art! Campers will be encouraged to experiment, to seek out their own artistic interests, and learn at their own pace while being challenged to broaden their horizons. Color Splash will have two (2) four week sessions (June 17-July 12, 2013) & (July 15- August 9, 2013)). The camp will operate 9am-4pm daily at West New Bern Recreation Center. Teen Camp
New Bern Parks & Recreation will be holding registration for the Teen Camp program at Stanley White Recreation Center. The camp is for youth, ages 13yrs-15yrs. There will be three sessions. Session 1: (July 1st to July 12th), Session 2: (July 15th to July 26th) and
Session 3: (July 29th to Aug 9th). In each session teens will explore aspects of teen life such as hip-hop/dance, college and career building, and much more. Each session costs $20.00. Registration begins Wednesday, May 1st 2013. Space is limited.

Hershey's Track and Field
The New Bern Parks and Recreation Department is holding registration for our Hershey’s Track and Field Program. Boys and girls ages 9 to 14 can participate. We will be hosting a local meet in June at New Bern High School. Winners will advance to the Eastern Region Meet in June, which will be held in Greenville N.C. We will be setting up practice meets in May for participants to prepare for their events. Some of the events include: 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, standing broad jump and softball throw.
Please register at West New Bern Recreation Center, located at: 1225 Pine Tree Dr. Parents can complete the registration form for their child and pay the $5.00 fee. For more information please contact Gus Hill at 639-2908.

Teen Night
Stanley White Recreation Center is now hosting Teen Night on the first and last Thursday of every month starting March 7th until May 30th from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm.
Teen Night is a great way for teens to get out of the house and come play Xbox 360, ping pong, foosball, watch T.V., listen to music and much more. Teen Night is open to any child in grades 6th through 12th. This program is free to all participants.

Intercity Baseball and Tee Ball
New Bern Parks and Recreation Department has begun registration for Baseball and Tee-ball at Stanley White Recreation Center. This program will have Boys and Girls Tee-ball ages 5 to 7, Coach Pitch ages 7 to 9 and Baseball ages 10 to 12. The cost of this program is free, parents just need to come by the Stanley White Recreation Center and fill out the registration form. Hook A Kid on Golf
New Bern Parks & Rec. is hosting its annual Hook a Kid on Golf program. This program is for any child between the ages of 8-14 that would like to learn how to play golf. The purpose of the Hook a Kid on Golf Program is to introduce the sport to youngsters in the community as well as encourage them to learn the rules, etiquette and history of the sport. The program will run for Girls July 15-18 and Boys July 22-25th and will be held at Carolina Pines Country Club. The cost of this program is $125.00 kids will receive a set of golf clubs along with 4 days of instruction. Swim Lessons
New Bern Parks and Recreation Department will be offering four 2-week sessions of Learn-To-Swim Lessons, for children ages 4-12, at the New Bern Aquatic Center, 1155 Laura Lane, beginning June 18th. Cost for each session is: $40 for City residents and $70 for non-City residents. There are eight lessons per session.
Registration begins May 6th for City residents and May 20th for non-City residents. Registration forms and program information is available at the Aquatic Center, West New Bern Recreation Center, Stanley White Recreation Center, Parks and Recreation Administration, and on-line at www.newbern-nc.org … select Parks and Recreation.
